Research

Evaluating an Alternative to Mercury Glass Thermometers
Crest Gold Award – British Science Association
Jun–Sep 2024

In my research on glass thermometers, I evaluated SafeTherm as a safer alternative to mercury in liquid-in-glass thermometers, following the global ban on mercury due to its toxicity. Through rigorous testing, I compared the accuracy, precision, and response times of SafeTherm and mercury thermometers.

This work earned me the Crest Gold Award by the British Science Association, recognizing my findings’ practical applications and impact on safer industrial and medical thermometry. For more details on the assessment, please visit Crest Gold Award Assessment.

Molecular Simulations on Hydrophilicity
Jun-Present 2024

I am working with a PhD student and Professor Vishwanath H Dalvi of the Institute of Chemical Technology on a research paper on local v/s global hydrophilicity. I conducted molecular simulations using GROMACS to study the hydrophobicity and hydrophilicity of various protein molecules. The project focused on understanding the differences between global and local surface properties.

The paper is in progress and will soon be submitted to a peer-reviewed journal.

Internship

Laboratory Analytical Skills at Zelle Biotechnology
Dec 2022

At Zelle Biotechnology, I learned to accurately use lab equipment like micropipettes and pH meters, applying these skills to buffer preparation. I also followed cell culture techniques in a clean room and learned protein separation methods.

Enrichment Program

Young Technology Scholars (YTS), Engineering Program, Plaksha University
Jun 2023

During my two weeks at the Young Technology Scholars (YTS) program at Plaksha University, I led a team in developing a robotic arm that replicates human hand movements using EMG sensors. This intensive engineering experience enhanced my skills not just in programming but also in teamwork as I utilized C++ to control an Arduino and ESP32, bringing our innovative robotic arm design to life.
